Views of the Gardens is a private house in a historic village straddling Dublin’s Phoenix Park.
A raw slice of wild Irish landscape forms the epicentre of the home. This courtyard acts as an open-air terrarium; a place to gaze upon but not to visit.
Each of the living spaces is informed by its relationship to the surrounding gardens which are constantly referenced through long and oblique views.
The material palette reflects the experience of Ireland´s weather, allowing the floors & walls to dissolve into the sky on rainy days creating a sense of serenity and belonging.
In collaboration with Smith & Kennedy Architects and Bernard Seymour Landscape Architects.
